“What’s happening?!”

“We don’t know” Dr. Reynolds replied

“Well, figure it out!”

“We need you to leave,” yelled a nurse deeper inside of the room.

Dr. Reynolds nicely pulled Nicki outside of the door.

“MRI” they said while getting on the elevator.

When the elevator door closed Nicki said “, What if I lose him?”

“You won’t” said Dr. Reynolds

“Okay, William. How long is the MRI gonna take?”

“It shouldn’t take much longer.”

“Okay, let me call my ride and tell him what happened.”

Nicki stepped out of the room and called Terrence

“Hello”

“Yea, T. We’re downstairs in the MRI area, something is happening and they can’t figure out what happened but come down here.”

“Okay, I’m pulling into the parking lot so I should be down to you in about 5 minutes.”
”Kay. See you in a minute”

Nicki hung up the phone and went back into the MRI room with William sitting. Just as soon as Nicki got to sit down a nurse came out of the back.

“Mrs. Samuels?”

“Yes?”

“Your husband’s brain is swelling and we’re doing all we can to get it down.”

“His head is pretty big so is his brain like touching his skull or something?”

“No but it’s pretty close so we’re doing everything to get it down.”
”Okay, what are you doing right now?

“We’re in the process of removing some of the blood from the hemorrhaging.”

“Okay, how long is that gonna take and how are you doing this?”

“It’ll take about another 20 minutes to get the blood out and to stitch him back up. And we cut open his skull and put in a suction tube to get it out.”

“Aren’t I supposed to give consent on any type of surgery?”

“Yes but you told us to do all that we can to save him and that was what we had to do.”
”You should’ve said something to me before you cut him open.”

“We were just doing what you said to do.”

“Isn’t it proper protocol to ask the family to perform any surgeries?” Nicki looked to William and he nodded his head.

“Yes, it is. But I didn’t think you would find a problem with trying to save your husband’s life.” Said the nurse

“I don’t have a problem with it but I do have a problem with the fact that you didn’t say anything to me about him going into surgery. I should sue you and get your license revoked but I’m not because you did the right thing but next time say something to whatever family you’re dealing with. But just know that if something goes wrong with this surgery, you won’t be a nurse anymore and if he dies because of complications, you might not be living anymore either.”

“Is that a threat, because if so I can get you removed.” The nurse said getting in Nicki’s face.

“I don’t know who you thought you was just fuckin talking to but you need to watch yoself cause my bitches will be up here to get in that ass if you don’t calm the fuck down. You know what, I’m not gon even have my friends break nails, just consider your license revoked.”

“You wouldn’t dare.” Said the nurse as Nicki dialed a number.

“Oh, I would. I’m calling my lawyer now. Thank you now get the fuck outta my face before you lose yo license and you get yo ass beat.”

The nurse huffed away upset.

“Tuh, thought she was gon talk to me anyway kinda way. Does she not know that I am NICKI MINAJ, bitch had the wrong one.”

“Nic?” Terrance said walking through the door

The rude nurse came back out.

“The surgery is over, his sedative should be wearing off in about 5 minutes but he’s went into a coma, he can hear you but he can’t see you and he can’t respond.”

“I’m not gonna get your license revoked but I will be making a complaint with your supervisor.”

“Thank you” said the nurse.

“Unh huh.” Nicki said as she and Terrence went to walk into the room where Safaree was.

“T, give me minute”

“Okay” Nicki waited until she heard the door close before she began talking to SB.

Nicki got up and left the room.

“Okay, William who do I talk to him to get him into a private room?”

“Um, I’ll go find a nurse and see if we have one available but for right now, they’re gonna take him back to the room that he was in before he came down here.”

“Okay.”

Nicki waited until they got Safaree back into a room then kissed his cheek and left the room.

“William, this is my number” Nicki said handing him her number “, call me if anything happens and I’ll be here before you can hang up the phone.”

“Okay, see you in a couple of hours”

Nicki left the hospital, went home and called both families and got everyone a flight to come down to L.A. from Brooklyn. She took a LOOONG hot bath to get rid of some of the soreness from the crash and waited for both sides of the family to get there. Once everyone got there they piled into cars and went to see Safaree. When they got to the hospital, Safaree’s mom asked everybody to chill for a while so she could go in to see ime first.

“Hey son. Ya mother’s here. I just came to tell you that I’m praying for you and we need you to come out of this for us, okay? Nicki needs it the most, she thinks she’s fine and even tho she looks fine on the ouside, her eyes tell a completely different story. We need you to come out of this, if it’s tonight or tomorrow or days after that, we need you to come out.”

Momma Beezy left and everyone else went in except Nicki. Momma Beezy went and sat with her in the corner.

“Nicki, is it okay if I talk to you?”

“I know you’re trying to be strong but its okay to cry the love of your life is in there laying on a hospital bed.”

“Why won’t you go in there with everyone else?”

:”Okay, well I’m gonna go back in and chat with everyone for a while before visiting hours are over.”

“Okay.”

When Momma Beezy got up and left, Nicki laye down on the couch and just thought about everything in the world. From Safaree to insects to God. She just let her mind wander untl she drifted into sleep.

Nicki was awoken by Macaiah to tell her that everyone was leaving.

“Okay Cai. Love you guys. Nicki said hugging everyone and then she went into the room with Safaree by herself.”

“Is he gonna be okay?” Nicki asked the doctor

“Yes, he should be fine, he just suffered a concussion but he should be up and running in a couple of days or so. But he shouldn’t be exactly running for a while.”

“Okay, can I go in to see him?”

“Yes, but he should be tired. His pain pills make him a little drowsy.”

“Okay, thank you Dr. Reynolds”

“Hey babe.” Nicki said to SB as she entered his hospital room

“Okay babe get some sleep. I’m gonna go get some clothes and I’ll be back.”

“I can’t call my parents it’s too late. Lauren is in New York. Terrence.”

Nicki dialed Terrence’s number knowing he wasn’t gonna answer on the first call cause he never does, so she called again.”

“T, I need you to come get me.”

“The hospital.”

“Yes, we just got in a car accident. Everything’s okay I just need somebody to come get me.”
